The animal is its face. The ambition is a recognizable personality, memories with context, inside jokes, useful initiative, and someone who can challenge an idea as well as help you finish it.

The vision includes researching, coding, planning, and coordinating specialist agents. You set the goals and permissions; your Phoenix carries work forward and shows what happened.

The design supports a roster of cloud and local models, so different work can use different strengths while your companion keeps its identity and shared context. Local models are part of the plan for lower usage costs and offline capability, within the limits of your hardware and connected tools.

What is the Fawkes Founder Miniature?
A 3D-printed collectible of Fawkes for supporters who contribute $100 USD or more. It is a display miniature with no electronics or AI functionality. The final design, size, and delivery schedule have not been announced. Keep your PayPal receipt as a record of your qualifying contribution; fulfillment details will be shared with qualifying supporters.
Does supporting reserve my own Phoenix?
A contribution supports Project Fawkes development. It does not reserve a device or guarantee future access. A final physical companion design has not been announced.
What am I actually hatching?
Today, you get a starting identity for your future AI companion: an animal avatar, a personality-inspired profile, and a shareable friend card. You can explore your answers and customize your companion’s name and form. The full companion platform is still being built; the test does not activate a conversational agent or reserve product access.
What does “agent harness” mean?
A model generates responses. A harness connects models to tools, memory, permissions, and task state so an agent can carry work forward. Phoenix’s direction is one personal companion using a roster of cloud and local models, supported by a team of specialist agents. Your companion’s identity and history sit outside any one model.
Will my Phoenix do things on its own?
That is part of the vision: give your companion a goal and the access it needs, then let it plan, delegate, and work while you do something else. You should be able to see progress, change direction, or stop it. Autonomy, provider integrations, and reliable cross-device continuity are still being developed.
Is there a launch date?
There is no announced launch or shipping date. Development is being approached in stages so each step can be tested before moving further.
What’s the difference between Fawkes and my Phoenix?
Phoenix is the platform and companion experience. Fawkes is Tanner’s personal companion and the first Phoenix behind it. Your companion can have its own name, animal form, personality, and shared history with you.
Will my Phoenix work across my devices?
That is a central goal: one continuing companion across your computer, phone, console, and future physical forms. Device support and the final experience remain in development.
